Women, Peace and Security- 20 years on

20 years ago, the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security (UNSCR 1325). It was the first international agreement recognizing that armed conflict affects women differently from men and calling for the meaningful participation of women in peace processes. OSCE supports crisis centres for victims of domestic violence in Kazakhstan

Domestic violence has increased worldwide during the COVID-19 pandemic. In its efforts to tackle and mitigate gender-based violence, the OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan builds capacity of Crisis Centres in eight regions of Kazakhstan by providing additional premises and hiring experts to render comprehensive assistance to the persons subjected to domestic violence.
