The “Healthy Online Information Spaces: From Policy Guidance to Pathways Forward” conference will take place on Wednesday, 22 October 2025, at Hofburg in the framework of the RFoM project “Towards Healthy Online Information Spaces”.
The event will serve as an interactive forum for in-depth discussion on the pressing challenges and opportunities posed by emerging technologies for freedom of expression and media freedom. It will bring together OSCE participating States and stakeholders ranging from civil society and academia to OSCE executive structures.
A series of workshops and participatory sessions will be held in parallel in the morning, offering participants the opportunity to engage in an informal, multi-stakeholder setting on issues shaping media freedom in the digital age.
The afternoon will be dedicated to the launch of the OSCE RFoM Policy Manual on “Safeguarding Media Freedom in the Age of Big Tech Platforms and AI”. A high-level panel will present and discuss the Manual’s key recommendations, designed to support OSCE participating States in ensuring the availability and accessibility of public interest journalism and reliable information in the digital era.
The conference will conclude with a networking reception at the Haus der Musik, providing space for participants to continue exploring the intersection of digital technology and human rights.
Kindly note that the participatory sessions in the morning will be in-person only. The high-level launch in the afternoon will be livestreamed on this webpage.
