The OSCE Mission to Montenegro and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), in co-operation with the Gender Equality Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro, organised a roundtable discussion on “Achieving gender equality in political life in Montenegro: The role of political parties”, on 17 May 2022 in Podgorica.
OSCE Mission to Montenegro continues to support ministries in gender-responsive budgeting process

In co-operation with the Secretariat to the Competitiveness Council of Montenegro and the Ministry of Finance, the OSCE Mission to Montenegro organized the training course for six ministries on gender-responsive budget analysis on 11 May 2022 in Podgorica.
OSCE Mission to Montenegro supports children and youth survivors of gender-based violence

The OSCE Mission to Montenegro recognizes the essential work that the organizations ‘Women’s Safe House’ and ‘SOS Podgorica’ do in providing a safe refuge to women and their children from gender-based violence, complementary to social and judicial response. In support of the ongoing national efforts, the Mission donated around 300 books and arts and crafts sets for children and youth survivors of gender-based violence on 22 February 2022 in Podgorica.
OSCE Mission to Montenegro continues supporting women police officers

OSCE Mission to Montenegro supports adoption of new Action Plan for a Gender Responsive Parliament 2022–2024

On 24 January 2022, the Gender Equality Committee of Montenegrin Parliament unanimously adopted the new Action Plan for a Gender-responsive Parliament 2022–2024. The document was developed with the support of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, as part of a long-standing co-operation with the Committee in promoting gender equality principles.
OSCE Mission to Montenegro supports ministries to mainstream gender into policies

To build the capacity of inter-ministerial actors responsible for implementing gender mainstreaming across ministries, the OSCE Mission to Montenegro organized a basic training course on mainstreaming gender into policies at the central level, from 6 to 8 December 2021 in Podgorica.
OSCE Mission to Montenegro video calls to stop violence and urges people to react, as part of the “16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence” campaign

The OSCE Mission to Montenegro joins the global “16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence” with a public campaign calling for an end to gender-based violence that includes a TV spot and social media campaign. The 16 days of Activism campaign started on 25 November, on the International Day against Violence against Women, and runs through to International Human Rights Day on 10 December.
