OSCE co-organizes second National Action Plan Academy on Women, Peace and Security in Vienna

Developing the technical skills to design a high-impact national action plan to support the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 on Women, Peace and Security was the topic of the National Action Plan (NAP) Academy which ended on 20 October 2017 in Vienna. The workshop was organized by the OSCE Secretariat’s Gender Section and the Washington-based organization Inclusive Security.
OSCE trains professionals working with survivors of domestic violence in Transdniestria

From 18 to 20 October 2017 the OSCE Mission to Moldova together with the Ribnita-based NGO Vialex organized a training workshop for a group of 20 psychologists, social workers and shelter staff who work with survivors of domestic violence. The trainees belong to several NGOs that seek to provide comprehensive assistance to beneficiaries residing in Tiraspol, Grigoriopol, Ribnita and neighbouring localities on the left bank.

Third edition of OSCE Dialogue Academy for Young Women concludes in Austria

The third edition of the OSCE Dialogue Academy for young women from Prishtinë/Priština and Belgrade concluded on 15 October 2017 in Stadtschlaining, Austria. The ten-day Academy was organized as part of the Follow Us Initiative, supported since 2012 by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo and the OSCE Mission to Serbia, as part of their work to enhance women's participation in dialogue and conflict resolution and decision making processes.

OSCE continues to enhance law enforcement skills to effectively combat domestic violence in Moldova

On 6 October 2017, the OSCE Mission to Moldova started a series of training sessions in eight districts of central Moldova to improve law enforcement’s capabilities to more effectively combat domestic violence. The prevalent phenomenon has risen to the attention of the European Court of Human Rights that is holding Moldova responsible in several egregious cases.
