First meeting of OSCE Advisory and Co-ordination Board for combating gender-based violence in South-Eastern Europe

The OSCE Mission to Montenegro has supported the NGO Safe Women’s House to increase its shelter capacities for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence, by providing a prefabricated house in June 2021. On 24 August, Siv-Katrine Leirtroe, Acting Head of the Mission, visited the shelter.

The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan conducted a series of roundtable discussions, held on 2 and 3 August 2021, on strengthening the role of women in socio-economic and political life and investing in women's professional development and leadership skills. The event was jointly organized with the National Commission on Gender Equality and Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Women and Gender Equality.

The Forum aims to generate urgent action and accountability for gender equality, and to accelerate the implementation of the commitments made in Beijing. It is convened by UN Women and co-hosted by France and Mexico in partnership with youth and civil society.
