Recruitment for the Election Expert Team to Portugal
Following an official invitation to observe the 24 January 2021 presidential election in Portugal, in line with the recommendation of a Needs Assessment Mission conducted from 18 to 20 November, and in accordance with its mandate, ODIHR is preparing to deploy an Election Expert Team. In this respect, ODIHR is currently seeking external consultants to fill the following positions:
Team Leader/ Election Analyst
Campaign Finance Analyst
Media Analyst
Procedure
All assignments are temporarily contracted positions and with a duration of approximately two weeks. Certain assignments may be extended by approximately two weeks, depending on a decision to observe a potential second round. Candidates should be available from 11 January 2021 and be prepared to depart at short notice. Candidates must be citizens of OSCE participating States, excluding citizens of Portugal. For more information about the responsibilities and requirements of each post, please read the terms of reference in the Key Resources section at the bottom of this page. Please complete the following steps in order to apply:
- Register in the ODIHR Election Expert Database. If you have already registered, please move on to the next steps.
- Complete or update all sections of Your Profile, including your personal information, professional experience, training, and education. Complete your profile accurately, as ODIHR will select you on the basis of the information provided.
- Using the Election Expert Database, apply for the positions indicated under Available Vacancies. Please note that you may apply for a maximum of two expert team positions.
- Check the status of your applications once the recruitment is completed under Recruitment Result and receive an automatic notification via e-mail.
The deadline for applications is 29 December 2020, 11:00 CET. Please note that it will not be possible to apply after the deadline.
Applications that are not submitted through the ODIHR Election Expert Database will not be considered. ODIHR retains the discretion to re-advertise the vacancy, to cancel the recruitment, or to offer an appointment with a modified job description or for a different duration.
The deployment of experts is subject to travel restrictions that remain in force in the OSCE region and national regulations pertaining to the arrival of foreign nationals to Portugal. The OSCE is an equal opportunity organization and encourages applications from women candidates.
Remuneration will depend on qualifications and experience, and will be in accordance with established OSCE rates. Coverage of travel expenses and a standard per diem will be provided by ODIHR, in accordance with OSCE travel policies.
