This conference brings together Roma and Sinti women from across the region to strengthen their voices and actions.
Over a day and a half, participants will share experiences, set common goals, and build connections that help shape decisions at national and international levels. The discussions will focus on how Roma and Sinti women can take a stronger role in public life, politics, and other spaces where key decisions are made.
Among those attending are Roma women active in public life and men who support gender equality and women’s participation. Many participants are alumnae of ODIHR’s I-CHANGE training for self-advocacy. Around 40 people from countries including North Macedonia, Ukraine, Poland, Spain, Greece, Finland, Italy, the Czech Republic, and Hungary are expected to take part.
The opening session will feature Małgorzata Mirga-Tas, a Polish Roma artist known for her colourful quilts and installations that tell Roma stories. She will speak as an inspirational leader and may also lead a collective art project during the event.
Working languages: English, Polish, Macedonian, and Ukrainian (with simultaneous interpretation).
