The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) within the Advancing the Human Dimension of Security in Ukraine project is organizing training for civil society and frontline responders on countering trafficking in human beings and national referral mechanisms (NRM), following an alarming number of reports of traffickers targeting women and children leaving Ukraine in light of the attack by the Russian Federation.
There will be three separate opportunities to participate: 19-20 June 2023, 22-23 June 2023 and 4-5 September 2023.
The training aims to provide knowledge and skills on:
- The proactive identification of victims of trafficking in crisis situations and migration contexts;
- Trauma-informed and survivor-centred methods of working in the anti-trafficking field;
- Understanding vulnerabilities and the gender-specific needs of people fleeing an armed conflict;
- National Referral Mechanisms (NRM); and
- NRMs for children and protecting children from human trafficking in crisis situations.
The training will also serve as a networking platform for civil society organizations and frontline responders in Ukraine and in transit and destination countries for refugees from Ukraine.
For each training session, ODIHR will select up to 30 participants from Ukraine and transit and destination countries. If you are interested, please send the CV/resume and a motivation letter (up to 300 words) of the proposed candidate from your organization by 22 May 2023 COB to CTHB-training@odihr.pl. Please indicate the preferred training date.
The event will be moderated by Tatiana Kotlyarenko, ODIHR Adviser on Anti-Trafficking Issues.
