The roundtable discussion aims to serve as a platform for promoting women’s political participation and leadership in Poland, through sharing good practices and expertise.
Around 60 participants, including members of parliaments, civil servants, political party representatives, diplomatic corps, civil society and youth activists, as well as experts and practitioners from Poland and Finland will participate in the event.
The Polish Institute of Public affairs will present the ODIHR-commissioned Report on Political Parties in the 2019 Parliamentary Elections that boosts discussion on women’s rights, political influence and ways forward in promoting women’s socio-political engagement. The roundtable sets up a creative space for Finnish and Polish counterparts to interact and exchange experiences and best practices.
The objectives of the event are in line with the 2009 OSCE Ministerial Council Decision 7/09 on Women’s Participation in Political and Public Life and reflect the priority of Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union to strengthen common values, inter alia women’s rights, and the rule of law.
