Report on digital news in Serbia
As a part of the OSCE Mission to Serbia's efforts to support implementation of the Media Strategy that also underlines the need to observe digital habits and competences of Serbian citizens, due to growing importance of Internet and social media for news distribution and consumption, the OSCE Mission, in co-operation with the Independent Journalists’ Association of Vojvodina (NDNV) produced 2022 Digital News Report for Serbia. The research presented here was done using the methodology of the Digital News Report 2022 conducted by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, University in Oxford.
Digital News Report is the largest global study of news audiences, conducted annually by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. In 2022 the survey included 46 countries (without Serbia) and 93,000 online news consumers. The data gathered through this study enables comparative insight into news consumption trends, including access points, use of particular news brands, trust in media, perception of media and journalists, engagement around news, readiness to pay for news, and perception of disinformation.
