OSCE supports women farmers’ development through field visit and knowledge exchange
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo supported a field trip for local women farmers from Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje to a farm and beekeeping enterprise in Dobërdol/Dobri Do village of Pejë/Peć municipality. The visit, organized by Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje Municipal Officer for Gender Equality (MOGE), in co-operation with the Pejë/Peć MOGE, aimed to empower women in agriculture through knowledge exchange, building professional connections, and promoting good practices in sustainable farming and rural entrepreneurship.
Experiences were exchanged in managing agricultural production, processing, and marketing, and challenges and opportunities in local agricultural markets discussed. They shared ideas on how to improve productivity and explored innovative approaches to strengthen their businesses and livelihoods.
Ardita Kastrati shares insights into agricultural production from her 16 years of experience in farming and beekeeping, and discusses challenges and opportunities farmers encounter.
