Organized by

The OSCE Mission in Kosovo - mandated with democratic institutions-building, and human rights protection and promotion - will mark International Democracy Day with a range of activities promoting youth empowerment and participation in decision-making processes.
Activities set for 15 September include municipal assembly session simulations, municipal open days, public debates, competitions, and street performances, and will address issues that affect young people and their quality of life.
Municipal authorities, civil society representatives, and the OSCE Mission-supported Local Youth Action Councils are all contributing to the event's organization.

- Democracy quiz for primary school students.

- Meeting of Municipal Assembly Chairperson with Youth Human Rights Club representatives.

- Discussion on the role and functioning of the municipality between the Municipal Assembly Chairperson, secondary school students, Local Youth Action Council members, and local NGOs .
- Quiz on municipal role and functioning with the Youth Association of Human Rights and secondary school students.

- Briefing by the Municipal Director of Education on the Universal Declaration on Democracy for the Local Youth Action Council members.
Prishtinë/Priština
16.00-18:00 hrs, from University building to the NewBorn sculpture
- The “Democracy Music Caravan” will pass through the city collecting suggestiosn on how improve the city’s image and living conditions for young people. The caravan will start in front of Prishtinë/Priština University building, go through George Bush and Garibaldi streets and and finish in front of NewBorn sculpture.

- Municipal assembly session simulation including the Municipal Assembly Chairperson and Local Youth Action Councils members from Mitrovicë/Mitrovica, Skenderaj/Srbica and Vushtrri/Vucitrn will debate and vote on their work plans.

- Roundtable with political activist, Radmila Kostić, Editor in Chief of Radio Kontakt Plus, Željko Tvrdišić, French Ambassador, Jean-François Fitou, and Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Edward Joseph on youth and women’s participation in decision making, the role of media in a democratic society, and democratic practices in day to day life.
