The OSCE Mission in Kosovo will organize a three-day training course on communication skills and organizational strengthening as well as on monitoring and interviewing skills for the representatives of the Ombudsperson Institution in Kosovo, the Kosovo Rehabilitation Centre for Torture Victims and the Council for the Defence of Human Rights and Freedoms.
These three entities signed a co-operation agreement on detention monitoring on 10 May, establishing a Joint Task Force to coordinate their activities.
The Georgian Ombudsperson and member of the Council of Europe’s Committee for the Prevention of Torture, George Tugushi, as well as the Head of the Professional Standards Unit of the Police in the Macedonian Ministry of Interior and member of the UN Sub-Committee for Prevention of Torture, Aneta Stancevska, will deliver the training alongside a trainer on institutional development from Skopje, Gramoz Shabani, and the OSCE Mission experts. The aim of the courseis to help develop a sustainable local detention monitoring mechanism, as well as to further build the capacities of civil society and the Ombudsperson institution.
