When

Where
Hotel Victoria, Pristina
Organized by
OSCE Mission in Kosovo
In this regional roundtable, parliamentarians from South-Eastern Europe discuss issues of common concern. The project is central in meeting the Kosovo Standards, in particular Standard 7 on regional dialogue.
Objectives
- The event offers an opportunity to parliamentarians from the region to visit Pristina and familiarize themselves with developments in Kosovo, while offering Kosovo representatives the possibility to present current developments to their guests.
- The round table facilitates a region-wide parliamentary discussion on topics of common concern and of common interest, in particular for exchanging experiences and best practices.
- As the Assembly of Kosovo will be actively involved in the preparation of the event, its capacities in hosting inter-parliamentary events and in maintaining inter-parliamentary contacts will be developed. Future capacity-building projects in this field will build upon this experience.
- Through the round table, the Assembly sends out a signal to neighbouring parliaments to focus on the achievements in Kosovo and look to future ways of cooperation and exchange. Parliamentarians could play an important role in facilitating contacts where governments often need to be more careful in assessing the political framework of their contacts. Through this project, the concept of parliamentary diplomacy will be put in practice.
