More than 90 journalists from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as well as OSCE media officers and specialists, met for two days in Dushanbe to discuss problems in the region and possible means of co-operation in the field.
Hosted by OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Freimut Duve, the conference focused on libel legislation, media law, new technologies and the role of the media in the development of civil society. Journalists set up a working group with media professionals from the four participating States to organize further co-operation.
