Round table on safety of journalists

The roundtable is a reaction to recent and growing cases of attacks and pressure on media workers.
Around 30 participants including media representatives, defenders of media freedom, Members of Parliament, law enforcement and state security personnel as well as human right activists will discuss why this is happening and how the problems can be addressed.
Some of the conceptual issues that the event will address will be the general level of respect for journalistic institutions, the extent to which media workers respect ethical and other norms, and the boundaries of respect and responsibility.
Expected results will be a closer understanding of the reasons behind this trend and a common distribution of roles for each sector involved in the resolution of this problem.
