The event will look at proposed amendments to media related legislation in Kazakhstan, particularly on the issues of libel and defamation. It will bring together representatives of Government and Parliament, civil society and the international community.
The roundtable follows similar events organized by the OSCE Centre in 2007 aimed at promoting media reform, and is an important element in supporting the development of Kazakhstani legislation in line with international standards.
