For the third consecutive year, the OSCE Programme Office in Astana will support the implementation of the annual Water Forum to streamline the knowledge based water governance principles. The Forum aims to promote wider discussions on the water education challenges and perspectives in Kazakhstan and serves as a policy advice platform for a continuous dialogue and connectivity among government, industry, research and scientific communities.
The activity falls in line with Kazakhstan’s strategy on “green” economy, which, inter alia, necessitates the improvement of the national water governance framework and nourishes the development of qualitatively skilled human capital in the water sector. It also underlines the OSCE priorities in the sector of water diplomacy, public involvement in respective discussion-making and transboundary co-operation.
