The OSCE Programme Office in Astana concludes training seminars “Court Reporter School”

The concluding seminar aims to enhance professional skills of some 15 journalists from the “Guild of Court Reporters” on legal reporting, expand their knowledge on human rights, equip them with knowledge on how to assert their right to access information during court proceedings and establish good co-operation of court reporters with judicial authorities. The course will be led by the Supreme Court judges, practicing lawyers and journalists and will be built around the following key modules: openness of court trial, protection of the access to information during the court trial; civil cases and criminal justice coverage issues; specific issues in court coverage.
The event concludes the series of total three training seminars and is in line with the Office’s activities on promoting media freedom and access to information.
