The Moldovan General Police Inspectorate (GPI) introduced a canine (K9) handling masterplan developed with OSCE support in Chisinau, Moldova, on 17 March. Covering the years 2025 to 2028, this document sets a clear framework for enhancing the operational effectiveness of Moldova’s K9 police units.

The OSCE Transnational Threats Department (TNTD) and the United Kingdom Home Office held an expert round table on the use of new and emerging technologies in crime investigations on the margins of the UK government’s 2025 Security and Policing Conference in Farnborough, UK on 11 and 12 March. Law enforcement officials, technology experts and academics from several OSCE participating States explored the transformative impact of digital technologies on crime-solving efforts.

The OSCE Transnational Threats Department held a national workshop for 15 senior representatives of Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies in Bishkek on 27 and 28 February. The event aimed at building the agencies’ capacities to provide systematic and sustainable professional training and development on investigating cybercrimes and other crimes involving electronic evidence.

From 25-27 February 2025, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe supported the Ministry of Interior in organizing a working group meeting to review the draft Law on Police. The discussions took place in Hissor district on 25 February and continued in Dushanbe on 26-27 February.

On 17 and 18 December, the OSCE Transnational Threats Department and the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities hosted the Tenth Annual General Meeting of the Permanent Conference of Organized Crime Prosecutors (PCOCP) at the Hofburg in Vienna. The event brought together senior prosecutors, judges, legal experts, and representatives from 14 participating States from across Europe and South-Eastern Europe to enhance informal and formal international collaboration against transnational organized crime.
