Young women professionals in Central Asia get career kick-start in energy sector through OSCE training course

The OSCE organized an intensive in-person and online training course from 17 to 21 April 2023 on renewable energy for around 100 young women from Central Asia, Afghanistan, and Mongolia, to help them kick-start careers in the sustainable energy sector.

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe completed a capacity-building training course on avalanche safety for 20 representatives of Tajikistan’s Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defence on 17 March 2023. The two-week course aimed at enhancing the rescuers’ skills and capacities in the area of search and rescue operations in an avalanche area as well as the recovery of victims after an avalanche in challenging winter conditions.

The OSCE held a regional workshop on Fostering Women’s Participation in the Energy Sector in Central Asia, jointly with the Qazaq Green Renewable Energy Sources (RES) Association and with in-kind support from UNDP Kazakhstan in Astana, Kazakhstan, on 7-8 December. The event offered a platform for 30 representatives from energy ministries, industry, women’s energy associations, and academia from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan to discuss regional opportunities and challenges facing women in the energy sector.
Tackling wildfires in a changing climate – OSCE facilitates co-operation among emergency management and climate experts
