Roundtable discussion on Border Security and Management during COVID-19 Pandemic at OSCE Border Management Staff College

OSCE launches EU-funded sustained field operational course for Tajikistan’s Border Troops in Khorog

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe launched a four-week course in Khorog to enhance the professional capacities of Tajikistan’s Border Troops to effectively react to emerging threats that occur in border areas. The opening ceremony took place on 1 June 2021 with participation of high-level representatives from Tajikistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tajikistan’s Border Troops and the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe.
Second online Training on the Identification of Imposters at Border Crossing Points

Learning how to identify and stop imposters at a border crossing was the focus of an online OSCE training course held on 19 and 20 May 2021. Over 200 participants from 29 OSCE participating States and Partners for Co-operation took part in the course. They comprised members of the OSCE Border Security and Management National Focal Points (NFP) Network and selected representatives of border and customs services.
OSCE concludes training course on sustained field operational capacity for Tajikistan’s border officers in Spitamen district

Twenty-nine officers of Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan (Border Troops) completed an EU-funded course on sustained field operational capacity on 18 May in the Special Border Unit in the Spitamen district. The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (OSCE) in co-operation with Tajikistan’s Border Troops organized the training course.
Twenty Tajik border officers complete the second round of OSCE-EU organized operational planning course in Khujand city

Border officers of Tajikistan’s Border Troops completed a three-week training course on operational planning on 13 May in Khujand city. The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe in co-operation with the Border Troops organized the course which was funded by the European Union.
Joint OSCE/Frontex meeting explores ways to strengthen document checks at borders in South-Eastern Europe

Exploring ways to further strengthen capabilities for document checks at border controls in South-Eastern Europe was the focus of an online meeting held on 29 April 2021 as a follow-up to the 2019 Co-ordination Conference on Preventing Document Fraud — co-operation in South Eastern Europe.
The fourth Border Security and Management for Senior Leadership course: Completion of module two

Twenty-seven officers and managers of various border security and law enforcement agencies from fifteen countries across the OSCE region completed the second module of the one-year Border Security and Management for Senior Leadership course on 29 April 2021. Due to the pandemic and the restrictions on travel, the traditional face-to-face phase of the second module was held via video teleconferencing.
