A roundtable meeting on the rehabilitation and reintegration of juvenile offenders was held in Dushanbe on 11 June 2019. The event was jointly organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe and Tajikistan’s Ministry of Justice.

On 21 and 22 May 2019, representatives of national human rights institutes and ombudspersons from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Russia and Azerbaijan as well as experts from international organizations and civil society gathered to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Ombudsperson Office in Dushanbe.

BRATISLAVA, 23 May 2019 – The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Slovakia’s Foreign and European Affairs Minister, Miroslav Lajčák, congratulated Tajikistan on assuming the four-month Chairmanship of the Forum for Security Co-operation, concluding his visit of three Central Asian countries in Tajikistan on 22 May.

DUSHANBE, 13 May 2019 – Ambassador Valeriu Chiveri of the Republic of Moldova assumed his duties today as the Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe.

A three-day capacity-building course on preventing and countering violent extremism and radicalization leading to terrorism (VERLT) took place in the town of Guliston from 2 to 4 May 2019. The training course served as the final phase of equipping public council members with relevant knowledge and skills to address and integrate aspects of preventing and countering VERLT into community policing efforts.
