From 22 to 24 July 2024, the OSCE Transnational Threats Department, jointly with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, facilitated a needs assessment mission to Uzbekistan, focusing on requesting electronic evidence across borders. The mission was held as part of the E-VIDENCE project dedicated to building the capacity of law enforcement in requesting electronic evidence across borders for investigating online criminal matters, including terrorism-related.

Investigating online terrorist-related crimes in line with human rights and gender-sensitive approaches was the focus of a training-of-trainer course held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from 28 to 31 May 2024 by the OSCE Secretariat Transnational Threats Department and the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan.

On 17 October, the OSCE Transnational Threats Department, in close co-operation with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, organized the first in a series of webinars for cadets and lecturers from the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent. The purpose of the initiative is to raise awareness about key trends and developments in contemporary policing among students and staff of the Academy.

On 3 June 2022, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan (PCUz) in co operation with the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG) and the Uzbek Prosecutor General’s Office organized an international scientific-practical conference themed “Legalization of the Proceeds of Criminal Activities and Financing of Terrorism: Modern Threats and Current Issues of Combating them”.

A webinar dedicated to the role of media in countering terrorism and violent extremism, was conducted on 21 and 22 September 2020. Twenty journalists from the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Ferghana region participated in the event. It was organized within the framework of co-operation between the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan and the Center for Retraining Journalists of Uzbekistan.
