Today the OSCE Mission in Kosovo concluded a week of training exercises on combating environmental crime for police officers, prosecutors, judges, municipal officials, and representatives from the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development.

Ensuring protection and promotion of rights of persons with disabilities was the focus of an OSCE supported online roundtable discussion concluded on 3 December 2021. The aim was to discuss issues related to the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) in Kazakhstan.

WARSAW, 10 December 2021 – As the world continues to struggle with the Covid-19 pandemic and the rising polarization and intolerance that has accompanied it, today’s Human Rights Day reminds us that that all countries across the OSCE have recognized that human rights are the birthright of all human beings, are inalienable, and are guaranteed by law, said the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

An OSCE-organized online course for law students on promoting international human rights standards in criminal proceedings and investigations took place in Ashgabat from 6 to 10 December 2021.

By increasing democratic civilian control, respecting the rule of law, upholding human rights and integrating a real role for women, good security sector governance helps build the population’s trust and provides stability by significantly contributing to conflict prevention.

An OSCE-organized online seminar on mainstreaming the work of the national human rights institutions and the role of an Advisory Council in Turkmenistan took place on 2 December 2021.

STOCKHOLM, 1 December 2021 – Today, civil society representatives from across the OSCE area presented their recommendations to strengthen the OSCE’s approach to conflict prevention at the annual OSCE Parallel Civil Society Conference held in Stockholm and online.
