This legal review analyses the current law on Electronic Media of Montenegro, aimed at assisting local authorities in the preparation of future amendments. The analysis was prepared by Professor Dr Sandra Bašić-Hrvatin, a well-known expert in Montenegro. The law was analysed and compared with OSCE commitments, the EU Directive on Audio-visual Media Services and Council of Europe recommendations.

This legal review analyses the recent amendments on the right of reply introduced in the Statute on Periodic Press and News Agencies of Slovakia (Zákon o periodickej tlači a agentúrnom spravodajstve), No. 167/2008 Z. z., as amended on 11 October 2018.
The legal review was prepared by Dr. Andrey Rikhter, Senior Adviser, Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media (Vienna), and Professor of Media Studies habilitated in Slovakia. The current amendments were submitted to the National Assembly of the Slovak Republic on 11 January 2019.

The Recommendations on Protecting Media Freedom and Freedom of Expression in the Regulation of Online Content in South East Europe were prepared following the OSCE South East Europe Media Conference organised by the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media in co-operation with OSCE Field Operations in South East Europe. The objective of this non-paper is to contribute to the debate on the issue of Internet regulation, and to enhance regional cooperation in the Western Balkans by involving OSCE participating States, policy makers, media professionals, civil society and all other stakeholders ahead of the adoption of new policies.
Commentary on Some Provisions of the Draft Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Countering Extremism"
Input of the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media to a legal review of Uzbekistan's draft law "On Countering Extremism" with an analysis of its provisions that might be affecting media freedom. This review contributed to the broad consolidated feedback on the draft law from various executive structures of the OSCE. The analysis yielded several recommendations and offered further assistance of the Office to the Uzbekistan authorities. The Note on the Legal and Political Circumstances Related to the Detention and Release in 2017 of Several Turkish Journalists in Spain following an international Red Notice issued by the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) was commissioned by the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, upon official request of the Ukrainian authorities, and prepared by Dr. Joan Barata Mir, independent media freedom expert. The note points to a number of elements of the Spanish legal system which contains a set of reasons according to which an extradition request may be dismissed.

Legal Advice on International Standards and Comparative Approaches on Freedom of Expression and Blocking of Terrorist or Extremist Content Online was prepared by the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media upon official request of the Russian authorities. The advice looks at the issue from a legal perspective and aims at outlining the possibilities and limits of regulatory measures countering extremist and terrorist propaganda.
