BELGRADE, 25 January 2010 - A donation of legal reference books for the Constitutional Court of Serbia's library was handed over today by the OSCE Deputy Head of Mission, Thomas Moore, and Ambassador John Morrison of Canada.

The court president, Bosa Nenadic, received the donation, which will provide justices and court officials with reference on contemporary practices in constitutional law.

"These reference materials will help Constitutional Court justices apply relevant measures in their decisions," said Moore.

Morrison added: "This donation will help Constitutional Court justices and advisers remain abreast of developments in constitutional law throughout the world and further their work in line with international standards."

The donation from the Canadian International Development Agency is part of an OSCE project that aims to strengthen the capacity of the Constitutional Court and support its efforts to raise awareness about constitutional rights. The handover ceremony was held as part of the OSCE Mission to Serbia's support for judicial reform in Serbia.
