Partners for Co-operation
- The Republic of Korea
In support of the OSCE Chairmanship and the respective Chairs of the Contact Groups with the Mediterranean and Asian Partners the OSCE Secretariat is responsible for the planning and organization of regular events with the Partners, including the Mediterranean and Asian annual Conferences, as well as for the coordination of technical assistance projects requested by the Partners.
Although the OSCE dialogue with its Partners for Co-operation encompasses the full range of the Organization’s activities, each group of Partners engages co-operatively on specific issues of common interest.
The Mediterranean Partners are particularly focused on issues related to anti-terrorism, border security, water management, environmental security challenges, migration management, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, tolerance and non-discrimination.
The Asian Partners for Co-operation look towards the OSCE’s comprehensive approach to security and to confidence- and security- building measures as possible sources of inspiration for their own region. They have also shared experiences in responding to transnational threats, managing borders, addressing transport issues, combating trafficking in human beings, building democratic institutions and administering elections.
