Economic activities
OSCE supports a number of economic activities, based on the premise that poverty can contribute to conflict, while inversely, economic development and cooperation are cornerstones of regional stability and security.
Based on the Maastricht Strategy as well as recommendations from past Economic and Environmental Fora, OCEEA has developed activities in the following areas:
Business and investment promotion
OSCE seeks to assist States to develop a business-friendly environment and to strengthen entrepreneurship capacity.

Combating trafficking in human beings
The Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities (OCEEA) takes actions to address the economic causes of trafficking.

Energy security dialogue
The Maastricht Strategy states that a high level of energy security requires a predictable, reliable, economically acceptable, commercially sound and environmentally friendly energy supply.

They can provide a breeding ground for other major threats."
