OSCE Programme Office promotes transition to low-carbon economy in Kazakhstan

The OSCE Programme Office in Astana will support a session under President’s Green Council on promoting transition to low-carbon economy and evaluate Kazakhstan’s committed obligations within the Paris Climate Agreement. The event, chaired by country’s Prime Minister will involve some 40 permanent and observer members of the council, including key decision makers of the line ministries, as well as business associations, civil sector and international organizations. The participants will review the mechanisms to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and develop recommendations for implementing Kazakhstan’s low greenhouse gas emission strategy.
The event is part of the Programme Office’s long-standing efforts to promote green growth and sustainable development principles in the host country.
