Economic and environmental dimension

Activities in the economic and environmental dimension include the monitoring of developments in this area among participating States, with the aim of alerting them to any threat to security and stability, while assisting in the creation of economic and environmental policies and related initiatives to promote security and co-operation in the OSCE region.

Anti-trafficking

The fight against trafficking - in human beings, in small arms and light weapons and in drugs - has been a top priority for the OSCE in recent years.

Economic activities

Economic prosperity being one of the cornerstones of stability, the OSCE has a special focus on promoting a healthy economic environment in its States, working in areas such as: combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism, promoting good governance, supporting transport development and security, assisting migration management. Environmental activities

The participating States work towards restoring and maintaining a sound ecological balance in the air, water and soil. The OSCE works on the following environment-related priorities: promoting integrated water resource management, supporting the disposal of hazardous waste, implementing the Environment and Security Initiative (ENVSEC), promoting and supporting energy security dialogue.
