Un numero senza precedenti di persone in cerca di rifugio è arrivato e continua ad arrivare in molti Stati partecipanti dell'OSCE per sfuggire al pericolo immediato in Ucraina. Queste persone, per lo più donne e bambini, possono essere esposte alla tratta per vari scopi, tra cui lo sfruttamento sessuale e lavorativo. Per sostenere i governi che stanno già adottando misure efficaci per accogliere e assistere le persone in cerca di rifugio, il Rappresentante speciale e Coordinatore per la lotta alla tratta di esseri umani ha pubblicato una serie di raccomandazioni, con indicazioni per le misure di prevenzione immediate e le risposte ai bisogni più urgenti, nonché misure politiche per prevenire e mitigare le vulnerabilità. Tali raccomandazioni esaminano anche le sfide a lungo termine, come l'integrazione nelle comunità ospitanti.
