In accordance with its mandate to “Facilitate dialogue on the ground in order to reduce tensions and promote normalization of the situation” the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine is pleased to announce the launch of the SMM ‘Youth Contact Groups' Project in Ukraine.

A collaborative effort of the SMM and the OSCE Youth Ambassadors, the project aims to empower young people in Ukraine to become dialogue facilitators in their country.

The SMM is convinced that this project can make a big difference by building bridges between young people from different parts of Ukraine and give them  an opportunity to implement their own ideas and projects towards normalization and stabilization in the country.

“At the SMM we believe that empowering young people to develop and implement their own initiatives to address Ukraine’s issues at this difficult time can contribute to ending this heartbreaking conflict,” – the SMM Chief Monitor Ambassador Ertugrul Apakan said.
