Sixteen experts from leading think tanks and research institutes across the OSCE region met with OSCE officials and delegations on 13 December 2010 at the first OSCE Vienna Roundtable. They exchanged views on the outcomes of the OSCE Summit on Astana on 1-2 December and discussed the future role of the OSCE. A report of the discussion will be made available on the OSCE website at the end of the year.

The Vienna Roundtable, which will take place annually,  was launched to increase the OSCE's interaction with academics working on areas related to the Organization's work. Through discussion and exchange of ideas the Roundtable will enrich the policy debate within the OSCE, and further the understanding of the Organization and its work in the academic world.

The event was supported by the Permanent Mission of Germany to the OSCE.
