Second Review Conference

The Second Review Conference for the Open Skies Treaty will take place in Vienna, Austria, on 7-9 June 2010. The event is organized by the Open Skies Consultative Commission and chaired by the United States. The First Review Conference was held in 2005.

The Treaty sets out the framework for a regime of unarmed observation flights over the territory of its 34 States Parties. It aims to boost mutual understanding and confidence by promoting openness and transparency regarding military or other activities.
