More than 200 parliamentary representatives from 50 OSCE countries and Mediterranean Partner States are gathering in Dubrovnik for the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's Tenth Fall Meeting on 7-10 October 2011.
Hosted by the Croatian Parliament, this session includes a conference on regional development in South-Eastern Europe, a forum on freedom, security and justice in the Mediterranean region and a special presentation on the role of the OSCE in conflict resolution.
“This region is now showing freedom, security and prosperity are not values that stop at any borders,” said President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Petros Efthymiou opening the meeting. “They are the common ideals that live inside us all and shared commitments that we as parliamentarians, diplomats and government leaders must always work to renew.”
During the conference on regional development in South-East Europe economic co-operation, Euro-Atlantic integration, and promoting long-term stability in South-East Europe will be discussed.
Croatian President Ivo Josipovic, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Luka Bebic, OSCE PA President Petros Efthymiou, OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier and Head of the PA's Croatian Delegation Tonino Picula will speak at the events.
