30th IPRM meeting takes place in Ergneti

ERGNETI, 29 January 2013 - On 29 January the 30th meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM), co-facilitated by the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) and the OSCE took place in Ergneti.

Participants exchanged information on the security situation along the Administrative Boundary Line and the ongoing process of amnesty in Georgia. The EUMM provided information on its current patrolling procedures. The situation in the village of Zardiantkari and the question of rehabilitation of a water supply system in the Sameba area (Dusheti district) were discussed.

The Georgian side provided information on the voluntary handover of weapons by the local population at the Administrative Boundary Line.

The importance of early warning on military exercises was once again stressed.

The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere. It was agreed that the next meeting will take place on 22 February.

The Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms were established under the Geneva International Discussions, which are co-chaired by the OSCE, the EU and the UN.
