22nd IPRM meeting takes place in Ergneti

ERGNETI, 30 April 2012 - The 22nd meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM), co-facilitated by the EU Monitoring Mission and the OSCE, took place in Ergneti today.

Participants reviewed recent detentions and incidents, including a shooting incident that took place in the area of the villages Zemo Nikozi and Kvemo Nikozi, and damage of warning signs at the South Ossetian Administrative Boundary Line (ABL). Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the South Caucasus, Ambassador Pádraig Murphy, shared information regarding work on the Zonkari Dam, while the EUMM presented results of the technical working group in relation to agricultural work near the ABL.

A suggestion to provide information on known mines and other remnants of war at the next IPRM meeting was welcomed by all participants.

The meeting was held in a productive and relaxed atmosphere.

It was agreed that the next meeting would take place on 25 May 2012.
