Presentation of the ODIHR/OSCE report “Law Drafting and Legislative Process in the Republic of Serbia: An Assessment”

The Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the OSCE Mission to Serbia and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will present an assessment of the legislative process in Serbia.
Following an official request from the Legislative Committee of the National Assembly the ODIHR in close co-ordination with the National Assembly and the OSCE Mission to Serbia, conducted a comprehensive assessment of the law drafting and legislative process in Serbia.
The assessment covers the entire legislative process both from the theoretical and practical points of view, and provides a set of recommendations for reform.
The Speaker of the Serbian National Assembly, Slavica Đukić Dejanović, the Director of ODIHR, Ambassador Janez Lenarčič, and the Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Thomas Moore, will open the event.
Participants will include representatives of the Serbian Parliament, the Government, the Office of the President of the Republic, the Constitutional Court, the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, the National Bank of the Republic of Serbia, independent state institutions, international organisations, non-governmental organisations and national and international experts.
