This research was implemented by the Independent Journalists' Association of Vojvodina (NDNV) with the OSCE Mission to Serbia's support. Paying particular attention to the goals of the Strategy of Development of System of Public Information in the Republic of Serbia (2020-2025), the research was conducted in order to better understand socio-economic position and working status of journalists and media workers in Vojvodina region, with special focus on position of female journalists, journalists working in minority language media, as well as freelancers and other journalists without permanent employment status.

The Study on the Use of Languages and Scripts of National Minorities in Courts and Prosecutor’s Offices in the Republic of Serbia explores the implementation of selected HCNM Graz Recommendations on Access to Justice and National Minorities in Serbia. The Study, covering the period of 2016 – 2018, examines the use of languages and scripts of national minorities in basic, higher, misdemeanour courts, and basic and higher prosecutor’s offices and contains a series of recommendations regarding the improvement of the current situation. It was developed in 2019 by the OSCE Mission to Serbia. Available only in Serbian.

Broadening its efforts in the field of improvement of teaching and learning Serbian as a non-mother tongue and a related conference organized by the Centre for Serbian as a Foreign Language at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade with Mission support in October 2018, the OSCE Mission supported printing of collection of papers produced as a result of the conference. The collection contains academic papers written by university professors and teachers of Serbian (Serbian as a mother tongue, Serbian as a non-mother tongue and Serbian as a foreign language) with regards to practices in teaching and learning of official language, observed shortcomings and proposed recommendations, especially at the level of teaching methodologies, improvement of teachers’ capacities and work with students. The collection of papers published in Serbian with summaries in English, also provides a useful tool for teachers of Serbian as non-mother tongue, a subject taught to those national minorities that avail of schooling in their mother tongue.
Catalogue of the most frequently used Albanian names and surnames

The Catalogue contains 3.134 Albanian names and 530 Albanian surnames with their proper inscriptions in Albanian and in Serbian languages respectively, and in Cyrillic script. It was developed by the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government in partnership with the Government of Serbia Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa, the National Council of the Albanian National Minority and the OSCE Mission to Serbia. The Catalogue will aid administrative staff working in hospitals, maternity wards and birth registries, who are in direct contact with Albanian language native speakers, to accurately inscribe their personal names in both Albanian and Serbian languages, in official documents, thus contributing to a more effective application of the right to a personal name and its inscription in a minority language. Available only in Albanian and Serbian language.

The manual represents an auxiliary tool for teachers of Serbian as a non-mother tongue in the achievement of learning outcomes in the third cycle of education. It contains 320 recommended words and grammatical and semantic elements that students of secondary school need to acquire, in line with the learning outcomes and thematic units that are part of the new curriculum for Serbian as a non-mother tongue. The purpose of the manual is to enable smoother adoption of the most frequently used terminology in Serbian. The manual also includes five illustrations which will be of practical assistance to teachers in organising the Serbian language classes. This manual is not available in English language.

The Handbook clarifies the purpose of standards, learning results at the end of a particular educational cycle, and the rationale of classification of standards by teaching fields. Teachers are referred to the reading of standards intertwined by knowledge, skills in the area of Language, Literature and Language Culture, as well as by the levels of educational attainment. The highest number of the standards is illustrated with textual tasks, assignments, and questions which enable application of students’ knowledge and demonstration of their cognitive abilities. In 2016, the OSCE Mission supported the Public Policy Research Centre, civil society organization to conduct a research on how the security sector reform affects human security in Serbia and to reassess the impact of security sector reform on LGBT people. The purpose of the research was to establish whether there have been changes in the policies of security sector institutions concerning the LGBT community as a vulnerable group.
