Active participation of the public in environmental protection includes models of informing and involving the public in various forms of decision-making of importance for the protection and preservation of the environment. This publication provides an overview of the role of Aarhus Centers in promoting the green economy and adapting to changed climate conditions. The publication: "Exercising the right to access environmental information" was developed in cooperation with the office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection with the support from the OSCE Mission in Serbia in order to inform the interested public about the importance and meaning of information relevant to the environment as well as about ways to provide accurate, timely and make reliable "green information" more accessible. New powers of the Commissioner relating to access to environmental information, provided through amendments to the Law on Free Access to Information, are also presented. Available in Serbian only.

The publication sets out a review of the state of the current disaster risk reduction and emergency management system and provides recommendations intended to harmonize the Serbian legislative framework with the Civil Protection system of the EU.  It is aimed at assisting law and policy-making

The publication covers criminal acts committed in protected natural areas, and is intended to aid the police, prosecutors, judges and environmental inspectors to investigate and prosecute crimes committed in protected areas through enhanced institutional co-operation. It lays out the authorities and competences of various stakeholders (at the state, provincial and municipal levels) in applying regulations related to managing protected areas. It also contains good practice examples and case studies, lessons learned and proposed recommendations for improved efficiency and effectiveness of operation and cooperation between stakeholders. ‘The GAP analysis – possibilities of economic empowerment by applying sustainable business models following the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Serbia’, is intended to assist policy makers and businesses to make informed decisions about transitioning to circular economy. The publication maps potential entry points for circular initiatives, based on the findings of a survey, conducted among 80 companies across the country. The GAP analysis contains an Action plan aimed at building a resilient economy by introducing regulatory, promotional, economic and institutional changes. Having analysed the media coverage of the floods that affected Serbia in 2014, the booklet sought to shed light on new aspects of media reporting and to draw attention to the topics that should be the focus of media attention. At the same time, through examples seen in other countries that have been dealing with the issue of gender-sensitive reporting for several years, the publication offers recommendations and advice that could be useful in the reporting of future natural disasters and emergency situations. To that end, problems faced by journalists and the media when reporting of an emergency situation, is highlighted. Through concrete examples of good practice, this booklet offers suggestions for the improvement of communication between relevant authorities and the media, which may result in a higher quality of information disseminated to citizens.

The brochure portrays basic principles of circular economy and its benefits to environmental safety, job generation and economic growth through inclusive policies. It also contains concrete information regarding improvements in national waste management policies supporting circular economy development, transition from linear to circular economy and its impact on energy consumption and preservation, new opportunities for the Serbian industry in the sphere of circular economy, international experiences as well as national support programmes and good practice examples from Serbia.
