The Handbook, supported by the OSCE Mission to Serbia, provides guidelines for school police officers and community police officers on their roles in school environment in respect to drug prevention, juvenile criminality and responsibility of minors, police communication, community policing. The Handbook is available in Serbian language.

The publication guides you through the process of creating highly interactive workshops, with special reference to the implementation in the changed circumstances of educational work. The central part of the guide is a description of techniques, games and exercises that allow for an extremely high level of active participation of students in their process of learning and strengthening skills. The guidebook is available in Serbian language.

The research focuses on examining the needs of schools in the changed circumstances of educational work, with a focus on the perspective of teachers, while the results were used to create practical tools to support their work and create recommendations for preventing risky behaviors during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was conducted online among 916 teachers from 271 primary schools in Serbia. Based on the research results, recommendations were created to support teachers and schools in their work on the prevention of risky behaviors in COVID and post-COVID time. The publication is available in Serbian language.

Based on results of the Assessment Report: Needs of primary schools in Serbia during COVID-19 pandemic in the context of prevention of risky behaviours among students: teachers’ perspective, this guide was produced to support teachers in their work and efforts to respond to new challenges in the best possible way. The guide provides an overview of important tools for learning management, making tests / quizzes / questionnaires, collaborating and sharing, creating and editing presentations and videos, with clear guidelines for their use. The OSCE Mission to Serbia supported the Institute for Improvement of Education in producing comprehensive Manuals that will help teachers in developing the new concept of civic education, introduced in Serbian schools gradually throughout 2018 and 2019. The Manuals cover four areas of civic education: human rights, democratic society, processes in the contemporary world and civic activism. The aim of these publications is to give teachers a wider insight into the above mentioned areas, to clarify the most important issues and to provide teachers with ideas on how they can implement relevant activities with students. It should also instigate the teachers to explore various further teaching techniques. The Manuals are part of the OSCE Mission to Serbia’s wider efforts to support enhancing the rule of law values among youth. The publication is available in Serbian language only.

Broadening its efforts in the field of improvement of teaching and learning Serbian as a non-mother tongue and a related conference organized by the Centre for Serbian as a Foreign Language at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade with Mission support in October 2018, the OSCE Mission supported printing of collection of papers produced as a result of the conference. The collection contains academic papers written by university professors and teachers of Serbian (Serbian as a mother tongue, Serbian as a non-mother tongue and Serbian as a foreign language) with regards to practices in teaching and learning of official language, observed shortcomings and proposed recommendations, especially at the level of teaching methodologies, improvement of teachers’ capacities and work with students. The collection of papers published in Serbian with summaries in English, also provides a useful tool for teachers of Serbian as non-mother tongue, a subject taught to those national minorities that avail of schooling in their mother tongue. 

The OSCE Mission to Serbia’s Work With and For Youth: A Compendium of Inclusive Practices from the Field.

The manual represents an auxiliary tool for teachers of Serbian as a non-mother tongue in the achievement of learning outcomes in the third cycle of education. It contains 320 recommended words and grammatical and semantic elements that students of secondary school need to acquire, in line with the learning outcomes and thematic units that are part of the new curriculum for Serbian as a non-mother tongue. The purpose of the manual is to enable smoother adoption of the most frequently used terminology in Serbian. The manual also includes five illustrations which will be of practical assistance to teachers in organising the Serbian language classes. This manual is not available in English language.
