The publication was compiled by a team of environmental experts under the guidance of NGO “Association for Environmental Policy and Law- Equilibrium, Serbia”. It is meant for the use of the general public and civil society organizations actively involved in environmental issues.

This publication contains an analysis of national and international regulations governing liability for environmental damage, an assessment of environmental damage and compensation for environmental damage in comparative law and international treaties, as well as a review of legal instruments governing the protection of the environment through civil and criminal law in the Republic of Serbia. This handbook places strong emphasis on the role of public in initiating and participating in environmental criminal and civil proceedings. The Manual is intended for judges who deal with criminal and civil cases, prosecutors, law students, environmental inspectors and civil society. Available in Serbian only.

The Green Address Book is a user-friendly manual containing contacts of institutions holding information relevant for the environmental security of communities in Vojvodina when environmental rights are violated. This database contains phone and fax numbers, e-mail addresses and web sites of institutions responsible for environmental protection at municipal, provincial and national levels. The purpose of this guide is to raise public awareness of possibilities for their active engagement in resolving environmental concerns by addressing competent institutions.

‘The GAP analysis – possibilities of economic empowerment by applying sustainable business models following the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Serbia’, is intended to assist policy makers and businesses to make informed decisions about transitioning to circular economy. The publication maps potential entry points for circular initiatives, based on the findings of a survey, conducted among 80 companies across the country. The GAP analysis contains an Action plan aimed at building a resilient economy by introducing regulatory, promotional, economic and institutional changes. The Guidelines for the Implementation of Gender Equality in Trade Unions are a tool for the preparation of action plans on equal opportunities and gender equality policies, as well as on reporting on those, as required by the Law on Gender Equality. The guide is available in Serbian language only.

With the aim of promoting the implementation of the Aarhus Convention principles, empowering the civil society and fostering the partnership between the civil sector and authorities, the OSCE Mission to Serbia supported the district Arhus Centre Kragujevac legal team in the development of model legal acts for local self-government units that enable sustainable public involvement in environmental decision-making processes at local level, more transparent access to environmental information and charge-free provision of legal assistance in environmental disputes. These model decisions aim at establishing “environmental councils” and introducing “green seats” in municipal assemblies, and “green line” and “green ombudsmen” within local administrations. The models were adopted by the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities and the Municipal Assembly of the City of Kragujevac at the end of 2010.

A leaflet, designed to familiarise third-graders with the principle "reuse-reduce-recycle", raises the awareness of the children and enhances their environmental culture.

This reference document provides guidance for the strategic orientation of the Aarhus Centres, set-up and activities on public participation in decision-making, access to justice and access to environmental information.

Conceived with an aim to raise the awareness of recycling, this book presents the principles of waste management and argues that a healthy environment depends greatly on how we relate to it.
