The 2014 Swiss Chairmanship of the OSCE is bringing together young people from across the OSCE region, giving them a unique opportunity to discuss their ideas with one another and make a real impact in the policymaking process. Running throughout the year, the Model OSCE isn't just a simulation; it will put the real negotiation skills of the Youth Ambassadors to the test.

The OSCE Youth Summit, organized by the Ukrainian OSCE Chairmanship, took place in the International Children’s Center “Artek” in Crimea, bringing together more than 500 young people from over 60 OSCE participating States and Partners for Co-operation. The event aimed to promote tolerance and non-discrimination, respect for diversity, peaceful development and friendship as well as raising awareness of OSCE activities among young people. The podcast includes comments from the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara, as well as the OSCE Secretary General, Lamberto Zannier. Approximately 60 youths aged between 18-30 discussed migration and economic stability during the Model OSCE Conference organized by the OSCE Office in Yerevan in co-operation with the School for Young Leaders in Yerevan on 2-3 May 2013. The Model OSCE is a simulation of the OSCE core decision-making body-- the Permanent Council.

Marking the International Day of Non-Violence

On 2 October 2012 an event was held in Kragujevac’s town square to mark the International Day of Non-Violence. For the Kragujevac police this is a way of sharing the responsibility for young people’s safety with the other local stakeholders, including schools and social services.
