Women are not only victims of violent extremism and terrorism, they can be perpetrators and supporters. They also have crucial roles to play in prevention efforts. We need to take gender aspects into account in order to develop effective measures to counter violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism.

Counter-Terrorism Conference held in Interlaken intends to make use of the comprehensive OSCE approach to security allowing a cross-dimensional discussion on current counter-terrorism issues. Thomas Wuchte, Head of the OSCE Transnational Threats Department/Action against Terrorism Unit, tells more about the conference, the issues being discussed as well as the OSCE’s role in combating them.
