This review was prepared in collaboration with the Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The publication contains information on the state system of prevention response to and protection of the population and the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan in emergency situations, the implementation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy, civil defense as well as well as search and rescue activities. The review also includes information on public outreach activities in the area of prevention and response to emergency situations, human resources policy, international co-operation and key areas of the Committee’s development in 2020. The review is available in Russian and Tajik languages.

This report is the first systematic review of the risk of natural hazards in the entire country of Tajikistan after the Soviet period. It contains a detailed inventory of glaciers and assesses the probability of mudflows and avalanches nationwide. The report provides experts, policymakers and researchers with a comprehensive guideline for the evaluation and potential avoidance of natural hazard impacts in Tajikistan.

This methodology study on how to conduct the anti-corruption assessment is designed for the Tajik governmental experts. A study on the feasibility of a single converged regulator for telecommunication and broadcasting services for Tajikistan was prepared by an OSCE-supported working group at the request of the Tajik Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. The study was handed over to the Ministry on 16 September 2015, and on 17-18 November 2015 its findings were discussed at a joint conference by the OSCE Office in Tajikistan and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.
