OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine
Youth
Involvement of young people in governance and policy-making is an investment in the stable and democratic future of the country. The Co-ordinator promotes meaningful participation of youth in activities and projects. Summer schools and other training opportunities give young professionals a chance to enhance their skills and knowledge in specific areas, while awareness-raising campaigns warn them of modern security risks and challenges.
The Co-ordinator puts special focus on the engagement of youth in dialogue through offering training courses in conflict prevention and management to young people and supporting their initiatives aiming to foster bridge-building and mutual understanding on important issues on Ukraine’s agenda.
An important area of work is support to the reform of the legal education system and the promotion of human rights education in schools, where the Co-ordinator’s assistance aims to nurture the growth of a new generation of human rights defenders, and contribute to the long-term sustainability of democratic institutions.
