VIENNA, 8 December 2021 — The winners of the OSCE–Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg (IFSH) Essay Competition: Conventional Arms Control and Confidence- and Security-Building Measures (CSBM) in Europe were announced today at a virtual award ceremony held during an OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation (FSC) meeting organized by the Austrian FSC Chairmanship.
OSCE supports development of a public awareness-raising campaign on danger of misuse of weapons, ammunition and explosives in Montenegro

Through two working sessions on 2 and 3 November and 19 November, the OSCE Mission to Montenegro organized a workshop dedicated to designing a public outreach campaign, to raise awareness on the dangers of misuse and proliferation of small arms and light weapons.

SARAJEVO, 11 November 2021 – Kathleen Kavalec, Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and Selmo Cikotić, BiH Minister of Security, signed today an agreement to implement a small arms and light weapons (SALW) control project over the next three years.
Regional explosive ordnance disposal course for specialists from Central Asia conducted in Tajikistan

Thirteen specialists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan completed a three-week regional Explosive Ordnance Disposal course (EOD level 2) at the Regional Explosive Hazards Training Centre (REHTC) in Chimteppa, Tajikistan, on 29 October 2021.

On 7 and 8 October 2021, the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat organized a two-day online roundtable discussion on Turkmenistan’s 2018-2022 National Action Plan (NAP) and the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1540 on Effective Measures against the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction.
