VIENNA, 18 December 2017- The European Union and the OSCE are close partners not simply because they face the same challenges, but because of their shared interest in ensuring stability and prosperity in Europe, the EU’s Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn told a special session of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna today.

Vienna, 17 November 2017 –Council of Europe Human Rights Commissioner Nils Muižnieks addressed the OSCE Permanent Council yesterday at the invitation of the Austrian OSCE Chairmanship. The Commissioner underlined the importance of strong co-operation between the two organizations in ensuring that, in addressing many of today’s complex security challenges, Human Rights are safeguarded as a fundamental pillar of democracy.
