On 29 November 2022, the OSCE Transnational Threats Department held a workshop dedicated to updating the curriculum for law enforcement on gender-based violence (GBV) in Podgorica. This is the sixth workshop organized at the national level within the project “Enhancing Criminal Justice Capacities for Combating Gender-based Violence in South-Eastern Europe”, implemented in partnership with the OSCE Gender Issues Programme and supported by the OSCE Mission to Montenegro.
Montenegrin citizens trust police the most, OSCE Mission to Montenegro survey finds

Citizens place the highest trust in the police (41.7%) and army (41.4%), followed by religious institutions, local governments, international organizations and the NGO sector. As many as 72.5% of citizens mostly believe that the situation in Montenegro is generally safe, while 61.4% of citizens are mostly satisfied with the police in protecting citizens’ safety. These are some of the key findings from a Perception of the Police in Montenegro survey, commissioned by the OSCE Mission to Montenegro and conducted by the Damar Agency between 7 and 15 October 2022 on a sample of 1,000 respondents.

On 14 October, Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, Dominique Waag, visited the Police Academy in Danilovgrad and met with its acting director Vladimir Stanišić. The meeting discussed challenges that the Academy faces and possibilities for future co-operation.
OSCE supports the police to deliver educational classes and colouring books to first graders in Montenegro

During September 2022, around 7.800 first graders in all elementary schools across Montenegro were presented with educational colouring books, designed and printed with the support of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, in co-operation with the with the Montenegrin section of the International Police Association and the Women Police Association of Montenegro.

From 26 to 30 September, the OSCE Mission to Montenegro organized three training courses for police officers in Bar, Kolašin and Podgorica on how to conduct interviews with victims of human trafficking, using a Guidance with standardized set of questions to ensure their rights are respected.
